Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 28, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel with Rev. Bill Marr officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Born in Mecklenburg County, January 2, 1923, to the late Claude and Etta Bostic, "J.C." was of the Christian faith. He was owner and operator of J.C. Bostic Realty and prior to that he was an insurance salesman for American Health and Life Insurance Company. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy. While serving in the armed forces, he received the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal, the Philippine Liberation Medal, the American Area Campaign Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. "J.C." enjoyed boating, spending time at the beach, cooking and being in fellowship with his friends. He was an avid NASCAR racing fan and at one point had the privilege of working with Richard Petty Enterprises. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, "J.C." was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Louise Hunsucker Bostic, and 13 of his 15 brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Gail Bostic Patterson and husband, Randy of the home; grandson, Christopher Allen Langley of Greensboro; sisters, Betty Bostic McManus of South Carolina and Marie Bostic Garner of Charlotte; his special, loving companion and friend, Brenda P. Hedgecock; and his faithful canine companion, "Buster".
