Son of Etta Worthy and John Claude Bostic. A short news article in the Statesville Record and Landmark, August 13, 1931, related:

CHARLOTTE, Aug 11. - John Bostic, 17 year old Mecklenburg County youth, killed himself on the front porch of the home of Arthur Connell, his brother-in-law.

Rural Police Chief Sam Dewese, after investigating, said the death was a plain case of suicide and no inquest would be held. Dewese said the boy had quarreled with his father.
