Bennie Fairchild, 97, formerly of 160 Beaver Pike, Waverly, OH died 6:55 a.m. Sunday, November 24, 2002 at Pike Community Hospital, Waverly, OH. He was born on February 22, 1905 in Paintsville, KY to the late James Fairchild and Lou (Howard) Fairchild. On December 4, 1922, he was united in marriage to Mary Emma(LeMaster) Fairchild who preceded him in death on September 26, 2000. Surviving are 2 sons, 1 daughter of Waverly, OH, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 sisters. In addition to his parents and wife, Bennie was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Frank, Gene and infant Fairchild and 2 sisters: Junie Blair and Alma McCarty. Bennie was a retired owner operator of Fairchild Grocery and a member of the Baptist Faith. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, OH with Elder Bruce Gullett, officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery, Piketon, OH. Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 11 a.m. until the service on Wednesday.
