Funeral services for Loren "Tuff" Walton will be Friday, May 26, at the Afton Tabernacle at 12 noon with a viewing from 10 a.m.-12 noon.
He died Monday May 22.
Loren "Tuff" Walton, 89, died at his home May 22, 1995.
Funeral service was held May 26 in the Afton LDS 1st Ward. Interment was Thayne Cemetery.
Tuff was born Jan 5, 1915 om Bedford to Charles Lorenzo and Mary Amelia Jorgensen Walton. He was the 12th child of a family of 13 children and spent most of his childhood living near Thayne.
He attended school in Thayne and Freedom. The name Tuff was given to him by his sister-in-law, Lena Walter because he was always fighting when he was a boy. He worked for farmers on the Palisades Dam and helped build many roads in the area.
He worked for the power and light and also the city of Afton. For the last several years he and his wife were campground hosts for the Murphy Creek Campground. He enjoyed that job the best.
He loved horses and spent many years cutter racing. he like to hunt and fish and enjoyed his family and family camping trips.
He married Ann R. Dana on July 18, 1936 in Randolph UT. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include his wife Ann of Afton; children Dell May Penn; Marie Edgerton and Don Walton, all of Afton; Lael Walton, LaBarge WY; Dennis Walton, Smoot 16 grandchildren 25 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; sisters Lucy Moser and Lora Wakeman of Thayne and Ula Bevins of Soda Springs.
He was preceded in death by his son, Alma, one great grandchild and one great great grandchild.

Lorene and Gary Hale and sons, Statler and Mitchell, came from West Jordan last Thursday. They came to attend and participate in the funeral the next day for Loren Walton that was held in Afton. They went back home Memorial Day after visiting Gary's parents, Al and Ellen Hale, and other family members in Afton. They stayed with Lorene's parents, Carolyn and Dennis Walton, the four days they were here.
