Thorndike – Mrs. Katherine G. Black, 66, died at a Bangor hospital Friday, March 27, 1964, after a long illness. She was born at Liberty August 5, 1897, the daughter of Herbert and Esther Hart Ryan.
Survivors include her husband, D. Lincoln Black of Thorndike; a son, Lewis Black of Belfast; three sisters, Mrs. Lulu Ludwig of Liberty, Mrs. Gertrude Newell of Dover and Mrs. Daphne Cushman of Weeks Mills; a brother, Lewis Ryan of Union; several nieces and nephews; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Thorndike Congregational Church with the Rev. Harold Nutter of Washington, officiating. Spring burial will be in Center Cemetery in Thorndike.
