OBIT:
Mrs. Sarah Ann Seavey, wife of Alexander Seavey, who resides at Seavey's ferry, died at the home of Hon. Jasper Wilkins, near Coburg, at 5:30 o'clock this morning.
Mrs. Seavey went to Mr. Wilkins' home some time ago to attend the bedside of Grandma Blachley, who was sick. While there she contracted pneumonia fever from the effects of which she died this morning, not having been sufficiently well enough at any time to be removed to her home.
Mrs. Seavey, whose maiden name was Blachley, was born in Porter County, Indiana, December 3, 1837 and was therefore aged 57 years, 9 months and 9 days at the time of her death. She crossed the plains with her parents in 1854 and is, therefore, a pioneer. In July of 1859 [October 10, 1858] she was married to Alexander Seavey, who survives her.
Besides her husband she leaves seven children--five boys and two girls--to mourn her death. They are Mrs. Clara Wilkins, wife of Jasper Wilkins, Mrs. Anna Bushnell who resides near this city, Will Seavey, who resides near Seavey's ferry and Thomas, James, John and Jesse, all of whom are yet at home.
Mrs. Seavey was a highly respected and well-known lady, having resided with her family for many years at Seavey's ferry, and has a wide circle of friends who extend their sympathy to the bereaved family.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock and the remains interred in the Masonic Cemetery near this city, Rev. I. D. Driver officiating.
