DAVID ALBERT WILLIAMS was born 01 JAN 1806 in Bulloch County, Georgia. He was the fourth child (third son) of GARRETT WILLIAMS, SR. (Born Circa 1765 - Died Circa 1818). The name of his mother is not known at the time of this writing (Still Searching). On June 28, 1827 he married MARGARET LAVENIA JONES (b. 22 JAN 1810, d. 14 DEC 1874) in Bulloch County, Georgia (Reference list of Bulloch County, Georgia Marriages 1796-1850). There was, at least, one child, a daughter, from this marriage. Their daughter, REBECCA EUGENIA WILLIAMS, born 15 FEB 1830, died 08 FEB 1921. His daughter lived to the age of 90 years, 11 months, 8 days. She married three times, had eleven (11) children from her body from these three husbands, which she outlived. The names of her three husbands are listed below, in marriage order:

First Marriage - Mikell Donaldson (1826-1855). At least three children from this marriage; Sarah Jane Donaldson (1848-1928); James Michael Donaldson (1851-1934); John William Donaldson (1853-1942).

Second Marriage - A Widower, John Ellis Gibson (1829-1862). At least three children from this marriage; Madison Adolphus Gibson (1856-1930); Stephen McCall Gibson (1859-1930); Charles McDonald Gibson (1860-1934).

Third Marriage - A Widower, Jefferson B. Butler (1802-1871). At least five (5) children from this marriage, including one set of twin sons; Charlton Fletcher Butler (1860-1934); Hardee Hampton Butler (1860-1947); Judy Rebecca Butler (1867-1907); Eugenia Viola Butler (1869-1938); and Mildred Louise Butler (1872-1963). She was 40 years old when her third husband died leaving her 4-1/2 months pregnant with her last child. She never remarried again, and lived another 50 years. 

It is known that DAVID ALBERT WILLIAMS had, at least six (6) siblings named below, in birth order: 

1. Garrett [Garrott] Williams, Jr., born 1788, died 1870, buried Lower Lotts Creek Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia. On 03 AUG 1811, he married Charlotte Charity Jones (Reference: A list of marriage copied from the original records maintained in the Bulloch County Courthouse in Statesboro, Georgia). There was, at least one child (a son) from this marriage, William Wiley Williams (1823-1862) and this son married Roxie Ann Lee (1832-1907) and there were five (5) children from this marriage, so Garrett had many grandchildren from this union, although his son was killed in battle during the War for Southern Independence (1861-1865).

2. CENITY (SENCY) “LUCY” WILLIAMS, daughter of Garrett Williams, Sr. (1765-1818), was born circa 1799 in Bulloch County, Georgia, died 1869 in, probably, Bulloch County, Georgia. At the age of 20 years, on 23 DEC 1819 she married John Thomas Briant Jones, born 13 NOV 1796 in Bulloch County, Georgia, died 16 MAR 1844 in Early County, Georgia. She was called “Lucy” by her contemporaries. Eleven (11) children from this marriage:

(1) Brazil Williams Jones (b. Circa 1820, d. ?). He married in 1845, a very young widow, 17-year old Mrs. Mary L. Ward Moon. She was the daughter of Dr. James and Ann Ward. They had six (6) children together; Bridger V. Jones, b. 1847; James B. Jones, b. 1849; Elizabeth Jones, b. 1852; Josiah Jones b. 1854; Georgia A. Jones, b. 1856; and Lenora Jones, b. 1858.
(2) Bridger David Jones, born 16 APR 1822, in Bulloch County, Georgia, married in Early County, Georgia, at age 26, on 28 SEP 1848, Elizabeth Monroe Ward, b. 25 NOV 1830, in Georgia. Two (2) known children from this marriage are 1st, Elizabeth Ardelia Jones (1862-1926) and Bridger David Jones, Jr. (1866-1949). There may be more children. Still searching. Bridger David Jones, Sr. was a CSA Veteran, serving as Private, in Company B, Cobb Guards Georgia Infantry. Both are interred in Mars Hill Cemetery, Calhoun County, Georgia.
(3) Josiah G. Jones, born 1826. Married on 01 SEP 1846 to Emily R. Blocker (b. 1831) , daughter of Stephen Blocker. They had four children together: Stephen. B. Jones, b. 1848; Bazzell W. Jones, b. 1850, Henrietta Jones, b. 1852, and; Susan A. Jones, b. 1854.
(4) Cenia Jones, born 1828. Searching for a trace of her life.
(5) Mary Jones, born 1828, died circa 1849. She married on 05 APR 1846 to William W. Lee in Early County, Georgia. Before her untimely death, she and her husband had one (1) child, a son, named JOHN BRIANT LEE, b. circa 1847. In 1880 he lived in Ft. Bend County, Texas with his wife Mary and two (2) daughters, Corisa Lee, b. 1875, and Mary Lee, b. 1876.
(6) Deborah Jones, born 1829. She married circa 1847 to William Sandlin. They lived in Bossier Parish, Louisiana, and had eight (8) children. She was still living in the year 1900. One of her children was named John Thomas Sandlin, b. ?, d. ?).
(7) Buckner Barry Jones, born circa 1832, d. 1862 in the unsuccessful War for Southern Independence. In the year 1858, he married Jerusia Ann “Nancy” Cowart, b. 1842, d. 1876. They had two children, together, before his untimely death: A son, William A. Jones, b. JAN 1860 and a daughter, Endora (also spelled ANDORA) F. Jones (she married a Strickland). After the death of his wife in 1876, the children, now teenagers were placed under the guardianship of their Uncle Bridger David Jones, brother of their deceased father.
(8) Elizabeth Jones, born circa 1834. She was married on 23 FEB 1853, in Early County, Georgia, to William D. Murray.
(9) Versanory Jones, born circa 1835, died circa 1846, at 11 years of age.
(10 Sarah V. Jones, born 1836. In the year 1856 she was married to Seaborn Jones.
(11) John Thomas Briant Jones, Jr., born 21 FEB 1841.

3. ROLAND (ROWLAND) WILLIAMS, born circa 1802 in Bulloch County, Georgia, died 18 OCT 1883 in Madison County, Florida and is interred there in the Hickory Grove Methodist Church Cemetery without the benefit of a stone marker on his grave. On April 29, 1824, at age 21 years, Roland "Rowland" Williams and 20-year old, Susannah Lewis (born, 1803, in Bulloch County, Georgia) were married in Bulloch County, Georgia (Source List of Bulloch County, Georgia Marriages 1796-1850). Roland and Susannah had , three children, 2 daughters, and a son born in Bulloch County, Georgia, as follows:

(1) Sarah Williams, born About 1826, in Bulloch County, Georgia.
(2) Robert W. Williams, born About 1828, in Bulloch County, Georgia.
(3) Nancy E. Williams, born About 1833, in Bulloch County, Georgia.

About, year 1834, Roland and Susannah had a desire to strike out to the new Territory of Florida (The territory was admitted to the United States as the 27th State on March 3, 1845, eleven years after they moved there). They packed up their belongings and the entire family moved to Madison County, Territory of Florida (which borders the State of Georgia) and spent the remainder of their natural lives there where they attended a Christian Church (Methodist), earned their living and raised their family. They had seven (7) additional children there during their marriage, and they learned to fit-in, and help form their new community in the State of Florida. Their seven (7) children born in Madison County, Florida are named below:

(5) Redding Rowland Williams, born About 1837, in Madison County, Florida.
(6) Rolin Lewis Williams, born 29 OCT 1837, died 11 JUN 1905. He married Narcissus Lavinia Blair (b. 13 OCT 1844, d. 01 FEB 1927). Children of Rolin Lewis Williams and Narcissus Lavinia Blair, are:
1st. James Augustus Williams, b. 03 JAN 1868, d. 28 AUG 1933.
2nd. William Henry Knox Williams, born 13 JUN 1872, d. 23 MAY 1960.

(9) Pricilla P. Williams, born 25 MAY 1844, died 16 OCT 1932, born and died in Madison County, Florida. She married William A. Gramling on 26 JAN 1866, in Madison, Florida. He died 22 APR 1900. After Pricilla's death, at age 88, she was interred next to her husband, William A. Gramling, at Hickory Grove Church Cemetery, Madison, Florida.
(10) Madison W. Williams, born About 1846, in Madison County, Florida, died After 1880 in Madison County, Florida. Married Catherine Carmichael, 15 Sep 1866, in Madison County, Florida.

Roland Williams 1st wife, Susannah Lewis Williams (1803 - Unknown), the mother of all his ten (10) children died - The date of her death is currently unknown (Still Searching!). On the 28th of July, 1867, Roland Williams married 2nd, a widow, Mrs. Frances Missouri Gramling Blakley. His 2nd wife was born about 1839, in South Carolina and had moved to Madison County, Florida with her 1st husband, John Henry Blakley (birth/death date unknown - still searching). They had one (1) child, named below:

(11) Lighter Leachman Williams, a daughter, born 31 MAR 1869, in Madison County, Florida, died 19 MAR 1968. She is interred in Fort Myers Cemetery, Lee County, Florida.

Roland, sometimes spelled Rowland in his time, Williams (1802-1883) was interred in this Cemetery without benefit of a stone marker with his name and birth/death dates.

4. John G. Williams, b. 28 MAR 1809, d. 26 DEC 1884, buried Lower Lotts Creek Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia. Married 1st Frances H. C. Nessmith (1809-1874). There were Eleven (11) children from this marriage. After his 1st wife's death, he married 2nd, on 08 APR 1875, Lucinda “Lucy” Lanier Lee (She was the widow of James Ludell Lee (1806-1864)). His 2nd wife is interred beside her first husband in the Lee Family Cemetery, Metter, Candler County, Georgia - REFERENCE FAG MEMORIAL# 71518206). One of his 2nd wife’s daughters, Sarah Ann Lee (1839-1920), married her 2nd husband’s son, James M. Williams (1833-1884).

5. Lewis Williams, b. About 1817, d. Unknown, burial location unknown. Still searching for a trace of his life.

Two of David Albert Williams' brothers, Garrett Williams (1788-1870) and John G. Williams (1809-1884) are also buried very close to his grave in this same cemetery where he is interred.

He married Missouri “Mary” Lee, on 09 NOV 1848, in Bulloch County, GA. She was b. 01 JAN 1832 in Bulloch County, GA, d. 03 JUN 1883, in Bulloch County, GA. She is buried in the Deal Family Cemetery, Bulloch County, GA. There were seven children from this marriage, all born in Bulloch County, Georgia; Sarah, b. 1850, Washington, b. 1854, Basil (Bazil), b. 1856, David, b. 1858, Margaret and Susan A, twins, b. 02 NOV 1859, and Millen, b. 2. Rebecca Eugenia Williams, b. 15 FEB 1830, d. 08 FEB 1921. Burial in Little Creek Cemetery, Fort Stewart, Bryan County. Married 3 times [(Mikell Donaldson (1826-1855), John Ellis Gibson (1829-1862), Jefferson B, Butler (1802-1871)], survived all husbands, gave birth to 11 children and buried under name of Butler.

3. Sarah Williams, b. 27 SEP 1831, d. FEB 1895. Place and date of his death is unknown. Still searching.

4. John Thomas Bryant Williams, b. 13 MAY 1833, d. 15 OCT 1856. He was named after his uncle John Thomas Briant Jones (1796-1844), husband of his aunt (his father's sister) Cenity (Sency) "Lucy" Williams (1799-1869). He died in Bulloch County and currently searching for his burial cemetery. Still searching

5. Simon Peter Williams, b. 16 DEC 1835, in Bulloch County, Georgia, d. 13 JUN 1921, in Newton County, Texas. A CSA Veteran. Served as a Private with the 24th Texas Calvary Company E. He married Priscilla West, b. 31 JUL 1840, d. 30 AUG 1886, in Newton County, Texas. She was the daughter of Jefferson West and Nancy West. Simon and his wife are interred in Sudduth Bluff Cemetery, Newton County, Texas. * Some conflict in his date of birth as 12 JAN 1835 is listed by some family members.

6. Ann Elizabeth Williams, b. 06 DEC 1836, d. Unknown. Married Barry A. Brannen on 15 OCT 1856. Place and date of her death is unknown. Still searching.

7. James Jackson Williams, b. 08 DEC 1838, d. 26 OCT 1862. Killed in action during the Civil War. A CSA soldier. His assigned unit is not known at the time of this writing. The location of his final resting place is unknown. Still searching.

8. David A. Williams, Jr., b. 26 MAY 1840, d. 11 APR 1998, in Bulloch County, Georgia. A CSA Veteran. He is buried in LOWER LOTTS CREEK CHURCH CEMETERY where his parents and some of his siblings are also buried. Still searching for more information about his life, marriage, children and etc.

9. Josiah C. Gilbert Williams, b. 05 FEB 1844, d. 29 SEP 1907. A CSA Veteran. He married Sara Jane Rogers, b. 09 AUG 1851, d. 18 DEC 1930. Four known children from this marriage were raised to maturity. They were survived by these four children and many grandchildren. Both are interred in Lower Lotts Creek Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia.

10. Julia Ann Jane Williams, b. 15 NOV 1845, d: 11 NOV 1900 in Lowndes County, Georgia. She married, a Widower, Thomas Falligan "TF" Banks (1823-1902). Both are buried in Cat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Lowndes County, Georgia. She gave birth to at least four (4) children who grew to maturity; Anna, James R., Thomas Cleveland, and Virginia.

11. Jasper Bazil Williams, b. 28 AUG 1848, d. 10 FEB 1925. He married Eva Hill, b. 06 APR 1878, d. 21 APR 1964. A least four children from this marriage lived to maturity. Both are interred in Upper Black Creek Church Cemetery, Brooklet, Bulloch County, Georgia.

12. Morgan Robinson (also spelled “Roberson”) Williams, b. 02 SEP 1850, d. 1910. He married Nancy Barrow, b. 1858, d. 1900, in Tattnall, County, Georgia. There was at least one child, a daughter, Abby Williams (b. 18 JUN 1885, d. 1914) from this marriage. The burial location of Morgan and his wife is unknown. Still searching. His daughter, Abbie Williams (1885-1914) married William N. H. Sapp (1881-1914) and they had four children that survived to maturity (Arthur Sapp (1902-1970), Lonnie A. Sapp (1903-1970), Ethel Belle Sapp (1907-1976) and Willie Raymond Sapp (1908-1975). At this writing, it is not known who assumed guardianship over Abbie’s and William’s four young children (their ages were 12, 11, 7, and 6 at the untimely death of their parents).

A little over a year after his 1st wife died on 14 DEC 1874, David Albert Williams (1806-1886) married 2nd, Georgia Aletha E. June (or Jane) DeLoach. Still searching for her parents. Together, they had one child, a daughter, named below.

(9) Pricilla P. Williams, born 25 MAY 1844, died 16 OCT 1932, born and died in Madison County, Florida. She married William A. Gramling on 26 JAN 1866, in Madison, Florida. He died 22 APR 1900. After Pricilla's death, at age 88, she was interred next to her husband, William A. Gramling, at Hickory Grove Church Cemetery, Madison, Florida.
(10) Madison W. Williams, born About 1846, in Madison County, Florida, died After 1880 in Madison County, Florida. Married Catherine Carmichael, 15 Sep 1866, in Madison County, Florida.

Roland Williams 1st wife, Susannah Lewis Williams (1803 - Unknown), the mother of all his ten (10) children died - The date of her death is currently unknown (Still Searching!). On the 28th of July, 1867, Roland Williams married 2nd, a widow, Mrs. Frances Missouri Gramling Blakley. His 2nd wife was born about 1839, in South Carolina and had moved to Madison County, Florida with her 1st husband, John Henry Blakley (birth/death date unknown - still searching). They had one (1) child, named below:

(11) Lighter Leachman Williams, a daughter, born 31 MAR 1869, in Madison County, Florida, died 19 MAR 1968. She is interred in Fort Myers Cemetery, Lee County, Florida.

Roland, sometimes spelled Rowland in his time, Williams (1802-1883) was interred in this Cemetery without benefit of a stone marker with his name and birth/death dates.

4. John G. Williams, b. 28 MAR 1809, d. 26 DEC 1884, buried Lower Lotts Creek Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia. Married 1st Frances H. C. Nessmith (1809-1874). There were Eleven (11) children from this marriage. After his 1st wife's death, he married 2nd, on 08 APR 1875, Lucinda “Lucy” Lanier Lee (She was the widow of James Ludell Lee (1806-1864)). His 2nd wife is interred beside her first husband in the Lee Family Cemetery, Metter, Candler County, Georgia - REFERENCE FAG MEMORIAL# 71518206). One of his 2nd wife’s daughters, Sarah Ann Lee (1839-1920), married her 2nd husband’s son, James M. Williams (1833-1884).

5. Lewis Williams, b. About 1817, d. Unknown, burial location unknown. Still searching for a trace of his life.

6. Delilah Williams, b. Unknown, d. Unknown. Searching for a trace of her life. 

Two of David Albert Williams' brothers, Garrett Williams (1788-1870) and John G. Williams (1809-1884) are also buried very close to his grave in this same cemetery where he is interred.

Additional research is underway to discover many of their life histories and dates and places of burial. So much remains to be done before this biography can be finalized. List of children follows:

1. William Berry (Berrien) Williams, b. 1828 (C.S.A.). d. 15 DEC 1862 in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia. [Civil War Casualty]. He married Missouri “Mary” Lee, on 09 NOV 1848, in Bulloch County, GA. She was b. 01 JAN 1832 in Bulloch County, GA, d. 03 JUN 1883, in Bulloch County, GA. She is buried in the Deal Family Cemetery, Bulloch County, GA. There were seven children from this marriage, all born in Bulloch County, Georgia; Sarah, b. 1850, Washington, b. 1854, Basil (Bazil), b. 1856, David, b. 1858, Margaret and Susan A, twins, b. 02 NOV 1859, and Millen, b. About 1862. Still searching.

2. Rebecca Eugenia Williams, b. 15 FEB 1830, d. 08 FEB 1921. Burial in Little Creek Cemetery, Fort Stewart, Bryan County. Married 3 times [(Mikell Donaldson (1826-1855), John Ellis Gibson (1829-1862), Jefferson B, Butler (1802-1871)], survived all husbands, gave birth to 11 children and buried under name of Butler.

3. Sarah Williams, b. 27 SEP 1831, d. FEB 1895. Place and date of his death is unknown. Still searching.

4. John Thomas Bryant Williams, b. 13 MAY 1833, d. 15 OCT 1856. He was named after his uncle John Thomas Briant Jones (1796-1844), husband of his aunt (his father's sister) Cenity (Sency) "Lucy" Williams (1799-1869). He died in Bulloch County and currently searching for his burial cemetery. Still searching

5. Simon Peter Williams, b. 16 DEC 1835, in Bulloch County, Georgia, d. 13 JUN 1921, in Newton County, Texas. A CSA Veteran. Served as a Private with the 24th Texas Calvary Company E. He married Priscilla West, b. 31 JUL 1840, d. 30 AUG 1886, in Newton County, Texas. She was the daughter of Jefferson West and Nancy West. Simon and his wife are interred in Sudduth Bluff Cemetery, Newton County, Texas. * Some conflict in his date of birth as 12 JAN 1835 is listed by some family members.

6. Ann Elizabeth Williams, b. 06 DEC 1836, d. Unknown. Married Barry A. Brannen on 15 OCT 1856. Place and date of her death is unknown. Still searching.

7. James Jackson Williams, b. 08 DEC 1838, d. 26 OCT 1862. Killed in action during the Civil War. A CSA soldier. His assigned unit is not known at the time of this writing. The location of his final resting place is unknown. Still searching.

8. David A. Williams, Jr., b. 26 MAY 1840, d. 11 APR 1998, in Bulloch County, Georgia. A CSA Veteran. He is buried in LOWER LOTTS CREEK CHURCH CEMETERY where his parents and some of his siblings are also buried. Still searching for more information about his life, marriage, children and etc.

9. Josiah C. Gilbert Williams, b. 05 FEB 1844, d. 29 SEP 1907. A CSA Veteran. He married Sara Jane Rogers, b. 09 AUG 1851, d. 18 DEC 1930. Four known children from this marriage were raised to maturity. They were survived by these four children and many grandchildren. Both are interred in Lower Lotts Creek Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia.

10. Julia Ann Jane Williams, b. 15 NOV 1845, d: 11 NOV 1900 in Lowndes County, Georgia. She married, a Widower, Thomas Falligan "TF" Banks (1823-1902). Both are buried in Cat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Lowndes County, Georgia. She gave birth to at least four (4) children who grew to maturity; Anna, James R., Thomas Cleveland, and Virginia.

11. Jasper Bazil Williams, b. 28 AUG 1848, d. 10 FEB 1925. He married Eva Hill, b. 06 APR 1878, d. 21 APR 1964. A least four children from this marriage lived to maturity. Both are interred in Upper Black Creek Church Cemetery, Brooklet, Bulloch County, Georgia.

12. Morgan Robinson (also spelled “Roberson”) Williams, b. 02 SEP 1850, d. 1910. He married Nancy Barrow, b. 1858, d. 1900, in Tattnall, County, Georgia. There was at least one child, a daughter, Abby Williams (b. 18 JUN 1885, d. 1914) from this marriage. The burial location of Morgan and his wife is unknown. Still searching. His daughter, Abbie Williams (1885-1914) married William N. H. Sapp (1881-1914) and they had four children that survived to maturity (Arthur Sapp (1902-1970), Lonnie A. Sapp (1903-1970), Ethel Belle Sapp (1907-1976) and Willie Raymond Sapp (1908-1975). At this writing, it is not known who assumed guardianship over Abbie’s and William’s four young children (their ages were 12, 11, 7, and 6 at the untimely death of their parents).

A little over a year after his 1st wife died on 14 DEC 1874, David Albert Williams (1806-1886) married 2nd, Georgia Aletha E. June (or Jane) DeLoach. Still searching for her parents. Together, they had one child, a daughter, named below.

13. Emily V. Williams, b. 04 SEP 1877, in Bulloch County, Georgia. Currently a search is underway to find further information about her life. Still searching.
