George Craig

Funeral services for George Craig, 80, who died Nov. 3, were to be held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, at Stoller Memorial chapel. Mr. Craig, who retired from the Camas mill in 1946, had lived in the Camas area for 46 years.

The Rev. Francis Groth of the Fern Prairie Methodist church officiated at the funeral with music provided by Sam Runyan, soloist, and Mrs. Dorothy Newby, organist. Concluding services and vault interment were at Fern Prairie cemetery.

Mr. Craig came from his native Kansas to homestead in Sherman County, Oregon, in 1899. He married Ethel Clark in 1905 at Grass Valley, Ore., coming to Camas in 1910 to settle on a small farm north of town. Mr. and Mrs. Craig celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1955. He worked in the mill 29 years.

Mr. Craig was a member of the Fern Prairie Methodist church, Washougal Grange 69, and the Golden Crown club.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Gerald F., Washougal, H. Ronald, Camas, and Albert G., Orchards; a daughter, Mrs. E. Rena Tiffany, Camas; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
