MARGARET J. GATES
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret J.
Gates of Camas were held Sept. 22 at the
Stoller Memorial Chapel with the Rev. John
Phipps officiating. Interment was in the
Camas cemetery.
Mrs. Gates died Sept. 19 in Vancouver
at the age of 84. She was born April 18,
1870, in Clorinda, Iowa, and lived in this
area for 43 years.
She was a member of the Presbyterian
church, past president of the Women's
Relief corps and a member of the Women's
Christian Temperance Union.
Surviving are two sons, Berl E. Gates,
Long Beach, Calif., and Harry D. Gates,
Richmond, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs.
Grace Hinman, Camas, and Mrs. Irene
Normoyle, San Francisco; a brother, George
Craig, Camas; four grandchildren and nine
great grandchildren.
