A retired barker and sawyer for the old Crown Zellerbach paper mill in camas, H. Ron Craig died Sunday, June 9, 2002, in Vancouver. He was 88.
Mr. Craig was a member of St. John's Presbyterian Church in Camas for 50 years. He enjoyed his family, friends, the San Francisco 49ers, traveling and spending winters in Arizona. He was also an avid gardener and very fond and knowledgeable of trees.
Mr. Craig was born Nov. 8, 1913, in Camas, where he was a lifetime resident. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne, in 1994; his daughter, Jeneanne Martell; and two grandsons.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen Place of Vancouver; three sons, Larry of Lacey, Wash., Clyde of Battle Ground and Ralph of Washougal; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Presbyterian Church in Camas. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas is handling arrangements.
