He is the husband of Bethada "Ada" Strunk and son of James Coffey and Sarah Sumpter buried in the Flat Rock Ky Cemetery.His home place (in Oneida)is within sight of the Coffey cemetery and was part of his estate.The cemetery was named after him and is spelled Coffey.The cemetery and his home was later owned by his son and my grandfather Captain "Cap" Coffey.
