Earl of Honey Grove, died June 24, 1980 at Grove Manor Nursing Home in Honey Grove. He had been in ill health about four years and had been seriously ill for one month.

Funeral services were held June 25, 1980 at Cooper-Sorrels Chapel in Honey Grove with Sammy Dobbs and Haskell England officiating. Interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove.

Earl was born January 22, 1891 in Madison County, Alabama. He was the son of James Thomas Boles and Ellen Pylant Boles. He married Della Bevis on May 9, 1925. She passed away on March 5, 1932. He married Ruby Boles on July 5, 1934.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Honey Grove and a member of the Woodmen of the World. He was a retired laundromat operator.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Boles of the home in Honey Grove; five daughters, Mrs. Betty Alexander of Dallas, Miss Virginia Boles and Mrs. Jimmie Lou Johnson, both of Irving, and Mrs. Glenda Sue Frank and Mrs. Rhonda Tyler, both of Houston; two brothers, Erwin Boles of Dallas and Oscar Boles of Mesquite; one sister, Bertha Hennard of College Station; seventeen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Dan Hiett, Hubert Milam, Johnnie Smith, W. J. Witcher, Jessie Smith, D. R. Black and Bill Roberts.
