From the Wills Point Chronicle; Sept. 23, 1921:

Violet Baillio, the two year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.N. Baillio, fell into a dipping vat near their residence on the Earl Curtis farm southwest of town Thursday morning about 9 o'clock and died in the early afternoon. The child was promptly rescued from the vat but while submerged in the dipping fluid swallowed a quantity of it, which caused its death. The attending physician succeeded in getting some of the fluid off her stomach but was not able to overcome the poisonous effect of that which it was impossible to get the child to vomit up. The remains were interred in the Locust Grove cemetery Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The bereaved parents and other relatives have the sympathy of neighbors and friends in the death of their darling little girl, and the sad accident has been a great shock to everybody.
