Mr. Horace Allen McDowell, Sr., 78, of 1191 Wilder Road, Pelham, Georgia passed away on April 13, 2007 at the Mitchell Convalescent Center in Camilla, Georgia.
Born to the late Emory Gordon McDowell and the late Annie Bell Cone McDowell, Mr. McDowell was a farmer and was affiliated with the Macedonia Baptist Church. Mr. McDowell was born in Grady County, Georgia on November 19, 1928 and was married to the late Sylvia Louise Barfield McDowell.
Mr. McDowell is survived by 2 sons, 2 daughters, 9 grandchildren, great 5 grandchildren, brother, Gordon McDowell of Doerun, Georgia, sisters, Lois Owens of Thomasville, Georgia, Shirley Best of Tennessee, Willowdean Sculley of Ochlocknee, Georgia, Carolyn Enfinger of Alabama.
Funeral services are planned for Sunday, April 15th, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Pelham, Georgia. The Elder Max Childs will officiate the services. Interment will take place in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will take place Saturday, April 14th, 2007 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home in Pelham, Georgia.
Mr. McDowell was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Louise Barfield McDowell, parents Emory Gordon McDowell and Annie Bell Cone McDowell, grandson, Jason McDowell and sister, Margaret Schultz.
