Wesley J. Jones, about 83 years, a well known resident of Gaars Mill community, and a member of the Baptist Church, died at his home Monday after an extended illness.

Funeral services were held at the Harmony Grove Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. H. H. McBride of Winnfield and Rev. R. L. Bridges, pastor of the Dodson Baptist Church. Mr. B. F. Wallace, superintendent of the Monroe Baptist Orphanage, was present and made a brief talk, telling that he had know the deceased for some time and appreciated his good life and association. Mr. Wallace was accompanied by the Holdcraft children from the Monroe orphanage, who attended the funeral of their grandfather, Mr. Jones.
