Mrs. Lest A. Granger, resident of Waterloo for 14 years, died at 9:15 Saturday at her home at Independence Avenue, after an illness of many weeks. She was 70 years old.
Carrie Dana was born Aug 20, 1871, in Bremer County, Iowa, the daughter of Osman and Mary Ann Dana. She was married 49 years ago to Lester A Granger in Nashua, where the couple lived before coming to Waterloo.
Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Schanweber, 706 Wellington Street; Mrs. Florence McChesney, 803 West Fifth Street; Mrs. Hazel Frederickson, Eugene, Oregon and Mrs. Helen Isley, Cedar Falls; one son William A Granger, 927 West Sixth Street and a sister, Mrs. E. M. Ledyard, Elwood, Nebraska. Two sons Harold and Eb, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Little Brown Church in the Vale, near Nashua by Dr. H. E. Dierenfield pastor of the First Presbyterian Church at Waterloo.
A prayer service was conducted at the Kearns Garden Chapel at 1 p.m.
Burial was made in Greenwood Cemetery, Nashua. Casket bearers were A. D. Donnell, Ralph Eckeiberg, Leo Mak, Stanley Moore, A. C. Sherwood and C. A. Morris.
