Megan was a popular child with many friends and was in the 5th grade at Lisbon Elementary School, and was formerly a student at Centreville Elementary. She was an outgoing, rugged girl and not afraid to get dirty. She enjoyed playing football with her brothers. There was also a softer side of Megan. She loved to have her nails painted. She recently got her ears pierced and loved wearing earrings and the new necklace her mom gave her for her 10th birthday in October. Megan loved flowers. Her mom often stopped by the floral section while grocery shopping just to surprise Megan with flowers. She also enjoyed playing her electric organ. Megan's favorite food was shrimp.
On November 22, 2007, David Brockdorff murdered his family, and then himself. He shot his wife, 43-year-old Gail, dead. He then shot all three of his children dead: David (12), Megan (10) and Brandon (7) Afterwards, he killed himself.
