My great-grandmother Ila was the daughter of Mary M. Luster and David M. Phillips. Orphaned at a very young age, she was raised by her grandparents, Thomas Luster and Sarah Knight. She married Elmer Thomas Everhart on March 8, 1911. He preceded her in death.

Her obituary was published in The Republican on 12/03/1970:

Mrs. Ila M. Everhart, 79, of Lizton, died Saturday, Nov. 28 at Hendricks County Hospital in Danville, She was a member of the Lizton Christian Church and of the Fidelity Class at the church.

She is survived by four children: Clarence, Indianapolis; Mrs. Anna Frances English, Speedway; Mrs. Irene Foist, Indianpolis; and Mrs. Jessie Harrison, Camby. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at the Lizton Christian Church Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. Rev. Gary Hann conducted the rites. Burial was at the Lizton K of P Cemetery.
