US Congressman. A son of Associate Supreme Court Justice George Shiras, Jr., he was a graduate of Cornell University and Yale Law. He was elected to Congress as a Republican, representing Pennsylvania, and served one term (1903 to 1905). Shiras was also a pioneer wildlife photographer and in 1935 he published a two-volume collection of his photographs, "Hunting Wild Life with Camera" and "Flashlight: A Record of Sixty Five years' Visits to the Woods and Waters of North America".
