Hello:
I've been excavating and cataloging pioneer cemeteries for over 40 years. In the 1980s I even published a few works on the subject. Like most of you, I'm also an avid genealogist. While I enjoy finding the graves of famous people, I'm more interested in the common soldier and pioneer. Every one of them has a story.

For 38 years it has been my privilege to be associated with the Carroll County Maryland Genealogical Society (https://ccgsmd.org/). Starting in the 1980s, this group of dedicated volunteers surveyed, recorded and transcribed every cemetery in Carroll Country, and their publications have become a primary source of information for anyone doing research in the region. Many of the monuments which they recorded have now disappeared, or are simply worn away with time. The information would have been lost if not for the work of the CCGS.

As for genealogy, I am currently working on the surnames Trine, Minter, Dozier, Shackleford and Marquez. I'm also collecting the names and graves of the Maryland 6th Infantry.

I'm usually "on the road," so my photos come from wherever I happen to be. I've had the pleasure of meeting hundreds of wonderful people who share this love for history. Contact me if I can be of any help to you.

ABOUT TRANSFERS: I am happy to transfer anyone who is not my direct ancestor.
