LAVON JENKS
Lakepoint - LaVon Jenks, 69, died of a stroke Nov. 15 in a Salt Lake hospital. Born Aug. 12, 1899, Heyburn, Idaho to Wallace and Lucy Dawson Jenks. Married Elsie Jolley March 22, 1924; solemnized Logan LDS Temple; she died 1964. Owner-operator Salt Shaker Restaurant, Saltair, 10 years. Moved to Lakepoint eight years ago. Member LDS Church, Sunday School superintendent. Farmer.
Survivors: sons, daughter, Vernal, LaVell, Mont.; Don, Lakepoint; Roger, Mrs. Bill (Velva) Phelps, both Salt Lake City; Mrs. Ray (June) Matthews, Providence, Cache County; Mrs. Glenda Kearns, Grantsville; Mrs. Frank (Vardella) Taylor, West Jordan; Mrs. Richard (Corliss) Bunce, Fullerton, Calif.; 32 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, sisters, Golden, Seattle, Wash.; Denzil, Salt Lake City; Virgil, Wendell, Idaho; Mrs. Lila Clegg, Mrs. Thomas (Thelma) Clegg, both Logan; Mrs. Harl (Zelda) Reid, Roy.
Funeral Tuesday 1 p.m., Redwood Memorial Estates Chapel, Salt Lake City, where Friends call Monday 7-9 p.m., Tuesday one hour prior to services. Burial Redwood Memorial Estates under direction of Manning Funeral Chapel, Pocatello.
