JANSSEN - The funeral of Mrs. Lena Janssen, 91, who died Thursday in Columbus Manor, will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Creston Baptist Church with the Rev. D. Lee Grace officiating. Burial will be in the Creston Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at Gass-Haney Funeral Home, 1 p.m. Sunday to noon Monday; 1-2 p.m. Monday at church.
Resident of the Creston area most of her life, Mrs. Janssen was born June 4, 1883, in Germany, the daughter of Fred and Lena Kruse.
Her first husband was Henry Huseman, whom she married in 1913. He died in 1918. She was married to Herman H. Janssen from 1922 until his death in 1961.
Mrs. Janssen was a member of the Creston Baptist Church and Dorcas Society.
She is survived by two sons, Elmer G. Huseman of Pomona, Calif., and Herbert A. Huseman of Creston; three daughters, Mrs. Henrietta Scheffler of Madison, Mrs. Edna H. Paul of Creston, Mrs. Ruth R. Svoboda of Lakewood, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Kruse of Waterloo, Iowa; two sisters and one brother in Germany. One grandchild preceded her in death.
