VIRGINIA BEACH - Ruth B. Levinson, 74, of <> Auburn Drive, died Nov. 4, 2004, in a local hospital. She was a native of the Berkley section of Norfolk and a lifelong resident of Tidewater.

She was the daughter of the late Harry and Molly Miller Goldsticker and was preceded in death by her first husband, Milton J. Becker and their son, Alexander Reese Becker. She is the widow of Seymour Levinson and the retired owner of Becker-Lascara Inc.

Mrs. Levinson was a member of Temple Israel, B'Nai Israel Congregation and Gomley Chesed Synagogue. She was a member of Temple Israel Sisterhood, Beth Sholom Ladies Auxiliary, Hadassah, B'Nai Brith and Money Mavens. She was a volunteer with Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in the surgery waiting room and the Beth Sholom Home of Eastern Virginia.

Survivors include two daughters, Arlene R. Sidman of Bethesda, Md., and Ellyn S. Becker of Arnold, Md.; two stepdaughters, Rhea Blanken and her husband Robert of Bethesda and Sara Levinson and her husband Charles Hairston of New York City; three stepsons, Mark Levinson and his fiancee Ann Kamenstein of Potomac, Md., and Michael Levinson and his wife Pam of Virginia Beach and Jed Levinson and his wife Laurie of Timonium, Md.; her daughter-in-law, Tanya Barnes of Portsmouth; her brother, Edmund Ralph Goldsticker and his wife Marcia of Virginia Beach; her sister-in-law Irene Ullman of Norfolk; her grandchildren Howard Sidman and his wife Lori, Michelle Sidman, Avi Elfersy, Mindy Elfersy, Miles Becker, Seth Blanken and his wife Mika, Matthew Levinson and his partner Dan Pansky, Joe Levinson, Shelby and Randi Kamenstein, Kara Levine and her husband Steve, Rachel Thatcher and her husband Mark, Jake Levinson, Avery Hairston and Zachary Levinson.

A funeral will be held today at noon in the Norfolk chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. Rabbi Michael Panitz and Cantor Elihu Flax will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Temple Israel or Beth Sholom Home of Eastern Virginia. The family will be at the home of Edmund and Marcia Goldsticker, 4004 Atlantic Ave., Oceans Condominium, Virginia Beach, following the interment.
