TABLE ROCK ARGUS, Feb. 1, 1962. (pg.3)

MRS. JOSEPH REUTER

Bertha Clara Wenzl, daughter of Frank Wenzl and his wife, Anna nee Loukata, was born March 7, 1879 in Steinauer precinct, Pawnee County, Nebr.

She was consecrated to her Lord in the sacrament of baptism in early infancy. She spent her childhood in this community and attended school and grew to young womanhood.

She was united in marriage on April 23, 1901 to Joseph P. Reuter of Table Rock at the Catholic Church in Steinauer. They settled on a farm four miles northeast of Table Rock and this was their home for fifty five and a half years, when they retired and moved into Table Rock. They were privileged to share the joys and sorrows together for almost sixty one years.

They had no children of their own, but when her sister, Leopoldina, died leaving behind her infant son, Arthur, who was only five months old, they took him into their home and loved and cared for him as if he had been one of their own.

The departed had enjoyed good health most of her life but she became ill on January 2, 1962 and on January 22nd was taken to the Humboldt Hospital, where she passed away on January 25, 1962 at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 18 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her devoted husband, Joseph, her nephew and foster-son, Arthur, his wife Christine; one sister, Mrs. Julianna Hays of Steinauer; many nieces and nephews, and a great number of friends.

Funeral services were conducted in St. John's Catholic Church in Table Rock and burial was in St. John's Catholic cemetery northeast of Table Rock.

Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Carl Bernadt, Ernest Gutzmer, Joseph Wopata, Elmer Spier, Marvin Hays and Walter Spier.
