Harry Hatfield Dies After 74 Years in City

Harry Hatfield, 84, of 230 1/2 Mathewson, a resident of Wichita since 1878, died at Wichita hospital Saturday.

Hatfield was born in Logan county, Ill., on Aug. 9, 1868. He followed the carpenter trade in Wichita for Wichita for many years before his retirement.

He is survived by five daughters; Mrs. A. H. Drury, 936 South Rutan, Mrs. Brice Palmer, 621 Marcelline, Mrs. Roy Jesseph, 3601 South Oliver, Mrs. Tom Ford, 518 Edison, and Mrs. Ora Nestleroad, 434 South Estelle; two sons, Harry Hatfield, 824 Faulkner, and Lloyd K. Hatfield, of 222 West Skinner; a sister, Mrs. Grace Pottorff, 1548 Garland; two brothers, C. C. Hatfield, of 3810 West Ninth, and Dr. Alfred Hatfield, of 2404 West Douglas; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Mr. Hatfield was a member of the Broadway Christian church. Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Tuesday at the Downing mortuary chapel with Rev. E. A. Newby officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Grove cemetery.
