He was born January 16, 1923 to Albert Issac and Mary Elzada Young in Perry, Utah.
He graduated from Box Elder High School in 1941.
Dean married Doris Call in January 1942. They had two daughters, Ida DeAnn Hammond and Alice Rue Stone (deceased).
He was in the Army Air Corp during WWII.
Dean worked for the US Postal Department for 35 years and operated a fruit farm in Willard before moving to Idaho Falls in 1996. He was a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dean lost his beloved wife in 2006 after 64 years of marriage.
Surviving are daughter, DeAnn, nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers: Grant Young, Perry, UT; Moylen Young, Idaho Falls, ID; Lowell Young, Corvallis, OR.
Friends may call on Monday, January 26, 2009 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT.
Graveside services will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Willard Cemetery.
