Moylen "Mick" Young, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 16, 2018, at MorningStar Senior Living Center.

Mick was born September 28, 1927, in Perry, Utah to Isaac Albert Young and Mary Elzada Nelson Young. He grew up and attended schools in the area and graduated from Box Elder High School. Following graduation he served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He later attended Brigham Young University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music.

While attending BYU, he met DeLaine Reed and they were married on September 3, 1947 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born seven children: Brent, David, Kevin, Alan, Ryan, Marilyn, and Lanette. Mick and DeLaine made their home in Ammon, Idaho and then moved to Aiken, South Carolina for ten years before returning to Idaho Falls in 1983.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in numerous callings including Bishop, Patriarch, Temple Sealer, and as a member of the Idaho Falls Temple Presidency. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, camping, fishing, collecting coins and loved music and singing.

Moylen is survived by his son, Moylen Brent (Sandi) Young of Layton, UT; son, David Reed (Shawnee) Young of Salem, OR; son, Kevin Eric (Jamie) Young of Mesa, AZ; son, Alan Kent (Mary) Young of Ririe, ID; son, Ryan Neal (Olivia) Young of Hong Kong; daughter, Marilyn (Jeffrey) Seebeck of Suwanee, GA; daughter, Lanette (H. Richard) Heindel of Farmington, UT; brother, Grant Young of Perry, UT; grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings, Mary Stokes, Florence Wight, Willard Young, Dorothy Pixton, J. Lowell Young, And Janet Johnston.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018, at the Idaho Falls LDS Lincoln Stake (2545 Mesa St.), with Bishop Clint Hall, of the Idaho Falls East View Ward, officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon) and on Friday from to 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.

Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery with military rites performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and Navy Honor Guard.
