John Kahle was born on the 17th day of December 1865 near Furnas Center, Ohio. Three years later he moved to Beecher, Will County, Illinois with his parents. There he received his Christian education, being confirmed by Rev. Nuoffer. At the age of 19 he came to Nebraska, On June 7, 1888 he married Miss Julia Krug. This union was blessed with three children, one dying in infancy. On the second day of July 1893 his wife died. The 30th of May the following year he married Miss Minnie Laskorvsky. This union was blessed with five sons, one died some years ago.

About 14 months ago Mr. Kahle was operated on for ulcer of the stomach, but he being of a nervous disposition suffered from insomnia. This evidently affected his mind. On last Saturday the community received the shocking news that he had committed suicide by hanging. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at one o'clock at the late home.

He is survived by his wife, six sons, one sister, four brothers, (one cannot be located), two daughters-in-law, and one grandchild. He attained the age of 51 years, 10 months, and 19 days.
