George Herman Mehner, the 5th of six children born to Gustav Hermann Mehner (1860-1900) and Katharine Riefkohl Mehner (1866-1951) and the youngest son.
George's siblings were: Carl Ferdinand Mehner (1889-1961); William Richard Mehner (1891-1972); Herbert Paul Mehner (1893-1949), Otto Edward Mehner (1896-1918) and Anna Frances Mehner Cook (1900-1984).
George obtained a pharmacy degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas, in June, 1919 and worked as a pharmacist his entire professional life.
George married Bertha Marie Papacek (1899-1987) on April 25, 1923. Together they had 2 children:
(1) Maureen "Mimi" Marie Mehner Wootters (1925-1994) and
(2) Dorothy Jean Mehner Neale (1928-2004).
George died of a heart attack in a parked automobile while attending a Texas-SMU football game in Austin, Texas, at the age of 50.
