LOGAN - George W. Squires, 73, owner and manager of the Squires Cleaning company, and for the past nine years and active worker in the L. D. S. Logan temple, died Monday at nine p.m. at the family home, 95 North Third West.
Mr. Squires was born February 22, 1874, in Salt Lake City, a son of John F. and Alice Penn Maiben Squires. When he was a year old the family moved to Logan, where had resided since.
He married Lettie May Ballard on February 22, 1899, in the L. D. S. Logan temple. She died on October 10, 1935. He married Gretta Thomson on September 19, 1937.
Surviving besides his widow, Logan, are six sons and daughters, G. Walter and Melvin B. Squires, Logan; Henry B. Squires, Mrs. Alice S. Gardner and Mrs. Myrtle S. Elwood, Ogden; Mrs. Lettie S. Russell, Salt Lake City; six brother and sisters, John H. and Albert M. Squires and Mrs. Florence S. Ballif, Ogden; Leo M. Squires, Salt Lake City; Dr. W. A. Squires, New York City; and Mrs. Kate S. Poulter, Van Nuys, Calif.; also 19 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The body is at the Kenneth Lindquist mortuary.
