Near Rockville, R. I., March 19th, 1861, of diphtheria, Mary N., daughter of Gardner and Elizabeth Burdick, aged 12 years, 9 months, and 19 days. Also, on the 20th of March, of the same disease, Lauraette J., daughter of Gardner and Elizabeth Burdick, aged 9 years, 6 months, and 6 days. The youngest of these children was away from home when taken sick, but they were both attacked about the same time, and lived about the same number of hours. They had sought the Saviour previous to their sickness, and in the simplicity of childhood rejoiced in the hope of receiving a crown at the hand of their redeemer. L. M. C
