"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 52, No 47 p 751, Nov. 23, 1896.

In Rockville, R. I., November 17, 1896, Gardner Burdick, aged 98 years and 24 days.

Bro. Burdick was born in Rockville, October 24, 1798. He experienced religion at the age of 16 years, and united with the Seventh-day Baptist church of Hopkinton, afterward removing his membership to the Seventh-day Baptist church in Rockville, where he held his membership at the time of his death. He was married June 6, 1820, to Elizabeth Ann Holland, by whom he had seven children, three of whom are living. His second marriage was to Elizabeth Crandall, December 25, 1831, by whom he had eleven children, six of whom are now living in Rockville. He was a man of decided convictions, strong will, and rigid integrity. But few men have had his experience; fewer leave a better record. He lived to a purpose, "and died in a good old age."
