This is my dad. Please note he did not have a middle name only the initial "R". He always had a joke and a kind word for all. He was fun to be around and he had a lot of friends in Prentiss. Dad was the town's only electrician for many years. He never turned people away when they were not able to pay for a repair. He had a generous heart and would often take groceries to those in need. He knew the Bible better than most and I love him dearly for giving me true values to live up too. (Mom did a good job also!)

OBITUARIES
Walter R. Bishop
PRENTISS — Services are scheduled for 2 p,m. today at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss for Walter R. Bishop, 71, of Prentiss, who died Aug. 24, 1996 at Jefferson Davis County Hospital in Prentiss, due to cancer.

The Revs. Randy Rich and Tom Myers will officiate. Interment will be in the Brady Cemetery in Prentiss.

Mr. Bishop, a native of Simpson County, worked for the Town of Prentiss Water Works Department for 22 years, He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Mr. Bishop was a World War II Veteran, a Mason, a Shriner, and an electrician.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Bishop of Prentiss; two sons, Walter Ray Bishop of Mendenhall and Richard Bishop of Prentiss; five daughters, Pat Holden of Sontag, Betty Robbins of Carson, Myrtis Bishop of Orlando, Fla., Margaret Coble of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Linda Hester of Prentiss; two brothers, John L. Bishop of Emporia, Kan. and Webster Bishop of Mendenhall; two sisters, Dolvis Stearmen [Stearmer] and Lois Gates. both of Sierra Vista, Ariz,; 19 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Saulters-Moore Funeral Home in Prentiss is in charge of arrangements.
