SHELBY-Selma Pearson Blanton, 81, died Oct. 15, 2011, at Hospice of Cleveland County.

Born Jan. 15, 1930, a native of Cleveland County, Mrs. Blanton retired from Fasco in 1996. She was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church, former choir member and the W.M.U. at Flint Hill

She was preceded in death by her parents, June F. Pearson and Eunice Z. Weaver Pearson, and son, Robert Mitchell Blanton. She was also preceded in death by one brother and nine sisters.

She is survived by her husband, of 61 years, Ralph Blanton of the home; daughter, Gwen Blanton of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Brandon Blanton, Marissa Blanton, Maria Hamrick and Randy Blanton; great grandchildren, Jessica Harrill Rich, Owen Matthew Blanton, Riley Michael Blanton and Starr Hamrick and great- great-grandchild, Noah Smith. She is also survived by a number of number nieces and nephews.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Wednesday at Flint Hill Life Enrichment Center
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Flint Hill Baptist Church
