Michael came to America on The Glasgow in 1738, landing in Philadelphia as an indentured servant. Learning a trade as a Wheelwright, he eventually moved south and built the Old Stone House (one of the oldest in the Piedmont area of NC) near Granite Quarry, NC. He migrated down the Great Wagon Road to an area of the "wilderness" and built a large granite home.
Colonial service to the community:
• On 22 April 1758 - for Rowan County, North Carolina - Michael Brown served as a juror.
• In 1761 - Rowan County, North Carolina - Michael Brown served as County Constable and Magistrate.
• On 22 September 1763 - Rowan County, North Carolina - Michael Brown naturalized.
• On 12 January 1764 - Rowan County, North Carolina - Michael Brown was appointed to serve as County Constable and Magistrate.
• In 1765 - Rowan County, North Carolina - Michael Brown served as Overseer of Roads.
Michael Braun served as Justice of the Peace and furnished supplies during the American Revolutionary War.
