On March 25, 1944, while returning from a German mission, a RAF Halifax bomber was attacked by an enemy fighter plane over nearby Belgium.
The terrible fight that took place, the plane of the RAF, after being valiantly defended, was hit, exploded in flight and fell between the two villages.
