George A. Parker, 87, of Sikes, died late Friday in a Columbia nursing home after a long illness.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church near Sikes with Rev. Willie James officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Survivors include three sons, Lloyd Parker of Jonesboro, R. J. Parker and Lawrence Parker of Sikes; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur White of Sikes and Mrs. T. W. Adams of Columbia; three brothers, Horace Parker and Jesse Parker of Sikes and Ross Parker of Dodson; four sisters, Mrs. Roy Beavers, Mrs. Jack Crain and Mrs. Maggie Smith, all of Sikes, and Mrs. Mary Thompson of West Monroe; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
