Horace P. Parker, 74, of Sikes, died early Monday, February 22, in a Winnfield hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Friendship Baptist Church near Sikes with the Rev. Arlie Bratton officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery.

Mr. Parker was a retired merchant and farmer.

Surviving are two sons, Maurice J. Parker and Alvis B. Parker, both of Sikes; a daughter, Mrs. W. C. Erskins of Sikes; two brothers, Ross Parker of Dodson and Jess J. Parker of Sikes; four sisters, Mrs. Maude Beavers, Mrs. Maggie Smith, and Mrs. Nancy Crain, all of Sikes, and Mrs. Mary Thompson of Monroe; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.
