SUMNER, ILL. - - Former Sumner resident Joy Olive White, 90, died at 1:15 p.m. CST Monday in Urbana.

She was born April 6, 1896, in Richland County, the daughter of William and Mattie (Nettleton) Atkins. Her husband, Millard Otto White, died in 1969.

Survivors include a son, William Arthur White, Urbana; a daughter, Leatha Johnson, Lansing; three brothers, Corie Atkins, Brandon, Fla., Hershel Atkins, Findlay, Ohio, and Earl Atkins, Findlay, Ohio, and Earl Atkins, Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Rosetta Fish, Honolulu, Hawaii; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A son, brother and sister are deceased.

She was a retired practical nurse and a member of the Methodist church.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. CST Thursday at the Sivert-Macey Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sumner City Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. CST Thursday at the funeral home.
