He was born Oct. 13, 1921, near Troy Mills, son of William M. and Hattie Oldridge Reece. He married Thelma L. Cunningham on Dec. 25, 1950, in Winthrop, and they later divorced.
Mr. Reece was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was employed at Wilson (Farmstead) Foods, Cedar Rapids, retiring in 1981.
Survived by: a daughter, Connie (Samuel) Rees of Walker; three sons, Richard (Betty) of Urbana, Terry (Nadine) of Center Point and Wesley (Merlyn) of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: a son, Kevin; a sister, Laurah Metcalf; and four brothers, Marion, Marvin, Edwin and Vernon.
Graveside services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Fairview Cemetery, Winthrop. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Winthrop.
