Joel Holley Adkins HAMLIN — Joel Holley Adkins, 92, of Hamlin died Nov. 17, 2001, at home. Born Aug. 13, 1909, he was the son of the late Millard and Lelia Adkins. He was also preceded in death by: his son, Jack Adkins; brothers, Griff and Leonard Adkins; grandson, Michael Adkins. Mr. Adkins was a Sunday school teacher, a Gideon and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hamlin. He was a former teacher, a businessman and assessor of Lincoin County. Survivors include: his wife, Natala Nida Adkins of Hamlin; four sisters, Beatrice Grass of Yawkey, Lillian Hicks of Milton, Lucille Miller of New Cumberland, Edith Moore of Hamerville, Ohio; one brother, Louis S. Adkins of Clearwater, Fla.; two grandchildren, Lisa Lewis of Deltona, Fla., Jack Adkins of Haralin; four great- grandchildren, Michael and Amanda Lewis of Deltona, Fla., Jessica and Jenna Adkins of Hamlin; one great-great- granddaughter, Emily Walls of Hamlin. Service will be 11 a.rn. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, with the Rev. Lisa McKee and Bill Elkins officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm, Monday at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin.

NATALA NIDA ADKINS, 96, of Hamlin, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2006. Natala has now joined God and those she has missed the most in Heaven, including her parents, W.C. and Armetta Nida; her husband, Joel Holley Adkins; her son, Jack Howard Adkins; her brothers, Homer, Romie, Roy, Albert, Joe and Okey; her sisters, Lillie Miller, Virgie Trainer, Della Johnson and Audrey Roberts; and her grandson, Michael Creed Adkins. Natala's surviving family includes grandchildren Elissa Ann Lewis and Jack Howard Adkins II; great-grandchildren Michael Anthony Lewis, Amanda Joan Lewis, Jessica Suzanne Adkins and Jenna Shea Adkins; great-great-grandchildren Emily SheaLee Walls and Tyler Nicholas Camden; and her daughter-in-law, Joan Crede Adkins. A viewing with family and friends will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2006, at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2006, at Koontz Funeral Home with the Rev. Warren Faulknier officiating. Interment will be held in Fariview Memory Garden, Hamlin. Koontz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Friends and family are invited to attend a luncheon at Trinity United Methodist Church following the interment service.
