Malcolm Howard Hudson. born 21 December 1912 in Alvarado, Johnson Co., Texas (son of Henry Cleveland Hudson and Hattie Ozine Hutchens), died 17 March 1987. An avid genealogist devoting much of his life to gathering basic data and publishing his findings. Compiler of Quillin-Hutchens family history and compiler of two books for the Hudson Family Association which he founded in 1973. Among his publications are: “The John Quillin Family (1966), “We Passed This Way (1968), “Hudson Ancestors My Father Never Knew” (1986), and an unfinished work entitled “Hudson Ancestors My Mother Never Knew” (1987). Accomplished journalist – in addition to compiling genealogical records with vivid descriptions of his ancestors and their descendants, he authored various article over the years appearing in many newspapers. Graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1928. Pipefitter foreman in Houston during WW II. Retired from Exxon in 1973 and moved to Longview, Texas where he became active in local organizations including President of the Texas Chapter of Nature Conservancy, the Carthage Rotary Club, and Longview Elks Club.
Married Sayra Elizabeth Crutcher on 2 August 1935, divorced in 1943. They had one daughter, Kay Karen. Malcolm and his third wife, Ouida Myrle Withers, adopted a son, John Brooks.
