Obituary of Lloyd N. Brubaker
Lloyd N. Brubaker, 99, Presbyterian Home at Hollidaysburg,formerly of Allegheny Apartments, West Loop, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, at Altoona Hospital.
He was born Oct. 25, 1903, in Sugar Run, a son of Elinas and Cora (Sell) Brubaker. He married Marjorie Bowser July 7, 1928. She preceded him in death on Jan. 9, 1943.
Mr. Brubaker was a charter member of Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren. He was a carpenter and had made more than 66 wooden items for the church.
He retired from Atlantic-Richfield as a truck driver.
Mr. Brubaker enjoyed carpentry and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Surviving are four daughters: Mary C. Berkheimer and husband, Donald, Esther M. Creamer and husband, John, and Kay, all of Hollidaysburg, and Eleanor R. McCleary and husband, Melvin, of Harrisville; a son, Galen L. and wife, Martha, of Goshen, Ind.; a sister Lenora Furry of Williamsburg; two brothers: Wesley H. of North Manchester, Ind., and Irvin W. of Hollidaysburg RR 1; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, a great-grandson, infant daughter and infant son.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, and 10 to the 11 a.m. time of services Friday by the Rev. Harold L. Bowser at Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren.
Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Precious Life, 1716 12th Ave., Altoona, PA., or Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren, P.O. Box 84, Hollidaysburg, PA.
