Little Mary Allen was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Knapton) Allen. She had two older sisters; Anne Sayers and Sarah Haines.
As a baby, her family immigrated from England to Prince William County Virginia.
Less than a year later, her mother passed away from Dysentery. Her father remarried, giving her three half-siblings; Charlotte, Edward and Henry. She also had a stepbrother, John William Austin and stepsister, Margaret.
Sadly, at the age of 8, she contracted Dyptheria and passed away, just months after both her stepmother and half-brother Edward died from Consumption.
