Mildred Lorine Moore Jamerson, 92, of Benton, died at 4:20 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2006 at her home. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2006 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Don Jamerson officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, McLeansboro, IL. Mrs. Jamerson was born January 18, 1914 in West Frankfort, IL, the daughter of Joseph Roberts and Cora Mae (Covert) Roberts. She married Madison Henry Moore, Sr. and he preceded her in death on Mar. 14, 1943. She later married Edward Dale Jamerson and he preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1964. She was a retired secretary having worked for Jamerson Auto Sales, Benton, IL. Prior to working at Jamerson's she was a cook at the Franklin Hospital and cleaned houses for many prominent people in Benton. She enjoyed spending time with her family, loved to buy scratch-off lottery tickets at Farm-Fresh, and enjoyed dancing with her lady friends. She liked flowers and gardening, and rooting for the Chicago Cubs and watching NASCAR racing on Sunday afternoons. She was of the Baptist faith. Surviving relatives include ten children, Jo Ann Gray, McLeansboro, IL, Marjorie Lee McCarty, Logan, IL, Betty Rose Ehrhart, Lake Jackson, TX, Lyle Franklin Moore and wife Patricia, Benton, IL, Madison Henry Moore, Jr. and wife Linda, West City, IL, Michael Frederick Smith and wife Diane, Westfield, IN, Ernest Ray Jamerson and wife Karen, Uhrichsville, OH, Edward Dale Jamerson, Jr. and wife Nancy, West City, IL, Mary R. Craig and husband Kenneth, Akin, IL, Donald Eugene Jamerson and wife Cheri, Freeport, IL, twenty-six grandchildren, forty-four great-grandchildren, twenty-one great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, two special grandsons, John Moore and Shawn Craig, Benton, IL, a special granddaughter-in-law, Susan McCarty, Benton, IL, two former daughters-in-law, Alice Barron, Johnston City, IL, Phyllis Travelstead, Marion, IL. Mrs. Jamerson was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a granddaughter, Phyllis Jean Hutcheson, a great-granddaughter, Amy Lee Brown, four brothers, Quincy, Ira, Joseph, and Leroy Roberts, three sons-in-law, James Wesley Gray, James Ike McCarty, Donald R. Ehrhart, a special aunt, Alberta Novak, and a grandson-in-law, Simon John Hamper.
