Anton Strejc died at the home of his son, Joseph Strejc, on February 23, 1912. He was born in Bohemia and lived in the mother country until 1878, when, with his family he came to America and came direct to Table Rock, locating on a farm seven miles northeast of town, where they lived until about ten years ago, when they bought the Longwell farm to which they moved. In the old country he was united in marriage in 1851 to Miss Josefa Pesek; to this marriage six children were born, one of whom, Mrs. Wopata, died about twenty years ago. The living children are Frank, of Greenwood, Anton, Joseph, Mrs. Vondrasek and Mrs. Frank Kovanda, Sr. The deceased was an honest, upright man and a good citizen who held the esteem and confidence of all who knew him.
