WALTON — Laura J. Martin, 97, of Canterbury Manor, Rochester, died at 5:15 p.m. Friday at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester. She previously resided on Rt. 1, Walton. She was born Sept. 27, 1885, in Washington Township to John and Hannah Bitner Bechdol. She was married Dec. 1, 1915, in Walton to James E. Martin. He died Sept. 7,1964.
She was a homemaker and a member of Union Presbyterian Church and Deer Creek Township
World War II Mothers.
Surviving are two sons, Hobart of Hamlet and Richard of Rt. 1, Walton; a daughter, Betty McKaig of Rt 1, Logansport; a sister, Vida Galloway of Walton; and 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A son, four brothers, three sisters and a halfbrother preceded in death.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Union Presbyterian Church, Walton. The Rev. Chester Wilson and the Rev. Keith Rinehart will officiate, with burial in Ramer Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Wolf- Hartzler Funeral Home and at the church an hour before services. Memorial contributions may be made to Union Presbyterian Church's organ fund.
