Born at the village of Carnkye, Wendron Parish, Cornwall to James Clemmons Johns and his wife Mary (Jenkin). She married Edward H. Moyle at Wendron on 24 February 1883. In 1887 Edward came to Ruby Hill where two of Elizabeth's brothers were settled. Elizabeth arrived in New York with her two daughters Edith and Clara aboard the SS Alaska on 21 April 1890 then proceeded to Ruby Hill. She lived out her life in Eureka, dying on 15 March 1938. She had suffered a paralytic stroke on 13 March 1937 and lived the last year of her life in blindness as a result. She was preceded in death by her daughter Edith in 1915 and husband Edward in 1926.
