Mrs. Alice Colvin, 86, died at 6:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15 1956, at Collista at the home of her son, Manford Colvin, with whom she was making her home. She had been ill for the past several years. The daughter of the late Tom and Jane Conley Fairchild, she was born in this county March 30 1870. She was a member of the United Baptist Church. Surviving besides her son are, three other sons, Earl of Beaver,Ohio; Tom of Wakefield, Ohio; and Jeff of Oil Springs; six daughters, Myrtle Blanton, McDowell; Mollie Hitchcock, Stockdale, Ohio; Sarah Bailey, Beaver, Ohio; Sis Bailey, Jackson, Ohio; May Blanton, Martha; and Maxie Cantrell, Mindfork. She also leaves one brother, Henry Fairchild, Low Gap; and three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Blanton, of this city; Mrs. Mary McCarty, West Liberty; and Mrs. Edd Blanton, Low Gap. Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. December, 17, at the home of her son, Manford with Adron Davis as the officiating minister. Music was by the Tom's Creek Quartet. Burial was in the family cemetery at Low Gap under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
