80, of 1189 Sweetbriar Galesburg died at 10:20 AM Sunday December 14, 2008 at her home.
She was born March 23, 1928 in Jacksonville IL the daughter of John and Mary Ray Walter. She married Donald E. Bivens in Galesburg on March 1, 1952. He preceded her in death on February 6, 1993.
She is survived by one daughter Nancy (David) Fencl of Riverwoods, IL; one sister Mary Lou Flater of Galesburg and four grandchildren Amanda, Lucas and Rory Fencl and Sarah Bivens. She is preceded in death by one son David Bivens and one brother John Walter.
She was the owner of Maurita Dale Dress Shop for 16 years. She retired in 1993. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1945 and attended Knox College. She was a member of the Amodata Club, Pi Beta Phi Sorority and the HO Chapter of PEO. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Memorial Service is scheduled for 7:00 PM Wednesday December 17, 2008 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Scott Grulke will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM at the chapel. Cremation to be accorded. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
